As believers, we are called to live a life of purpose and fulfillment, yet, the challenges of life often cause us to doubt ourselves and our abilities. However, in the Bible, we are reminded that God who began a good work in us will bring it to completion.

This assurance should give us the confidence to live boldly and pursue our God-given dreams and aspirations.

Today, we will explore how we can develop the confidence to live a life that honors God and fulfill His purpose for our lives.

Anchor verse of the day

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

Our anchor verse of the day (Philippians 1:6) reassures believers that the good work God has already started in their lives will continue until Christ returns.

It speaks to God’s faithfulness and sovereignty in the life of a believer and encourages them to have confidence in His plans for their life.

The main theme of Philippians 1:6

  • God’s faithfulness to complete His work in believers: It speaks to the confidence that believers can have in their salvation and spiritual growth, knowing that God will not abandon them or leave them unfinished.

Similar Bible verse to Philippians 1:6

Who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ?

1 Corinthians 1:8 (NKJV)

This verse, like Philippians 1:6, speaks of the assurance and confidence that believers have in God’s faithfulness to keep them secure until the end.

It emphasizes that it is God who keeps us from falling away from the faith and ultimately presents us blameless before Jesus on the day of judgment. This assurance gives us the confidence to live in obedience to God and to continue pressing toward the goal of our faith.

In what instances should the believer have the confidence to live

  • When facing difficult circumstances or challenges that seem insurmountable.
  • When dealing with sickness or health issues that may be overwhelming.
  • When starting a new venture or pursuing a new career.
  • When stepping out of one’s comfort zone to take a risk or try something new.
  • When facing criticism or rejection from others.
  • When dealing with financial struggles or uncertainty.
  • When dealing with relationship issues or conflict with others.
  • When facing the loss of a loved one or grieving a major life change.
  • When dealing with spiritual doubt or questioning one’s faith.
  • When seeking to share one’s faith or make a positive impact in the world, and many more.

Reflection on having the confidence to live

Having the confidence to live is an essential aspect of the Christian faith. It is the assurance that God is with us every step of the way and that He has a purpose for our lives. This confidence enables us to face life’s challenges with courage and faith, knowing that we are not alone.

As believers, we can have the confidence to live because we are not defined by our past mistakes or failures, nor any mountains we face now. Our identity is in Christ, and He has given us a new beginning. We can trust in His grace and forgiveness, and walk boldly in the knowledge that we are loved and accepted.

Furthermore, having the confidence to live means trusting in God’s plan for our lives, even when we don’t understand it. We can have peace in the midst of uncertainty, knowing that God is in control and that He will work all things together for our good.

As we go through life, we may face trials, hardships, and opposition. But with the confidence to live, we can persevere through these challenges, knowing that God is with us and that we will emerge stronger and more resilient.

Let us hold fast to the confidence to live, trusting in God’s love, grace, and plan for our lives. It’s my prayer we walk boldly in faith, courage, and purpose, knowing that we are never ever alone.
