Today, I’m here to encourage you to seek spiritual growth and transformation in your life, for it’ll help you grow spiritually and change your life.

» Sunday, 8th January 2023 | I Stand In The Gap Daily Devotional | Seeking Spiritual Growth and Transformation

Our immediate daily devotional theme was “peace and comfort in times of trouble.” Today is about how we can be transformed through spiritual growth in the Lord.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

2 Peter 3:18

See, to become more like Jesus Christ, when we seek to grow in the knowledge and understanding of Him, it can help us to grow in our faith. This process of spiritual growth and transformation involves intentionally seeking to follow Jesus and to live according to his teachings.

REFLECTION on spiritualö growth and transformation:

Although written centuries ago, 2 Peter 3:18 is a verse that is still relevant for Christians today, and in our present dispensation, this verse is a powerful reminder for Christians to prioritize our relationship with Jesus.

  • This verse encourages us to focus on our spiritual growth and to strive to become more like Jesus, rather than simply going through the motions of our faith.
  • It reminds us that the process of spiritual growth and transformation is an ongoing one and that it requires effort and commitment on our part.
  • To seek spiritual growth and transformation, we must be intentional about our relationship with Jesus. This can involve reading the Bible, praying, participating in church activities, and seeking to apply what we learn to our lives.

By taking these steps, we can grow in our knowledge and understanding of Jesus, and we can become more like him. We can also give him the glory that he deserves, as we recognize all that he has done for us.

Whilst we seek, it is important to remember that we are not alone in this journey. God is with us every step of the way, and he is ready and willing to help us as we strive to grow in our faith. So let us embrace the challenge of seeking spiritual growth and transformation, and let us trust in God to guide us on this journey.

Bible Verses on spiritual growth and transformation:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Romans 12:2

This verse encourages believers to resist the influence of the world and to allow God to transform their minds and hearts so that they can live in accordance with his will.

9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Colossians 1:9-10

This verse prays that believers will be filled with the knowledge of God’s will and will live a life worthy of the Lord, bearing fruit and growing in their knowledge of God.

Today, let me Pray for you!

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your love and grace, and for the gift of your son Jesus. Thank you for the opportunity to grow in our knowledge and understanding of you. I pray that you would help us to focus on our relationship with Jesus, and to actively seek to grow in our faith.

I pray that you would give the one reading this, the desire and the courage to take steps toward spiritual growth and transformation. Help them to read your Word, pray, and to participate in church activities in a way that helps them to grow closer to you. And as they seek to apply that to their lives, I pray that you would give them the strength and the wisdom to live for you.

I pray that you would give them the grace and the patience to be persistent in their efforts to grow spiritually. Help them to remember that this is a journey and that they will face challenges along the way. But I trust in you, and I know that you are with them every step of the way.

I pray that you would give them the desire and the ability to give you the glory that you deserve, as they recognize all that you have done for them. May their lives be a reflection of your love and your grace, and may they be a blessing to others as they seek to grow closer to you.

We pray all of these things in the name of Jesus, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
