Later, David realized his mistake and said something remarkable: the Lord broke out against us, because we did not consult Him about the proper order.

So the second time, he had the Levites carry the ark exactly as God had commanded in the Law, and this time it was full of joy and blessing.

So you see: Same goal. Same sincerity. But this time, God’s way. And that made all the difference.

Hebrews 8:5 reminds us that even the tabernacle was to be made according to the pattern shown on the mountain.

This means His instructions are not red tape but are His loving design for our good.
