I want you to notice also how badly she was misread. Eli, a priest, mistook her devotion for drunkenness. People will sometimes misjudge your season, but God never misreads a sincere heart.

Watch what changed and what did not. Nothing in her circumstances had shifted when she left. She was still barren that afternoon. Yet Scripture says “her face was no longer sad” (1 Samuel 1:18).

Meaning, pouring out your soul transfers the weight before it changes the situation, and that transfer is itself a sure mercy.

Tell God the truth. Describe your sorrow plainly rather than praying in polite generalities you do not feel.
