Divided devotion always weakens a believer. When money makes your decisions, anxiety follows, because mammon is a cruel master that never says “enough.”

But when God holds your allegiance, provision follows peace, as Matthew 6:24 leads directly into Jesus’ promise that the Father cares for His own.

Consider Elijah on Mount Carmel. Israel was limping between two opinions, so the prophet cried, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him” (1 Kings 18:21). Fire fell that day, and the people declared their loyalty to the living God.

Sometimes God allows a Carmel moment in our lives, a crossroads where fence-sitting must end and kingdom loyalty must be declared.

• Audit your masters honestly. Ask: what do I think about first in the morning, trust in a crisis, and sacrifice most to obtain? Whatever answers those questions is your functional master.

• Then deliberately dethrone every rival: give generously to loosen money’s grip, and give God your first hour, as those seeking God with all their heart do.

• Keep cultivating inner strength through the Word, and let your loyalty to the kingdom show in your calendar, your wallet, and your choices.

Undivided devotion is the doorway to undisturbed peace.
