The foundation of praise is a truth woven through all the Scripture, and it speaks directly to how every believer should approach life’s new beginnings.

In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat faced a massive army advancing against Judah. He had no military strategy that could match the threat. So he fasted and called the nation to seek God.

Then he did something that seemed unusual: he sent singers out ahead of the soldiers. They praised God before the battle even started. The enemy fell into confusion, and Judah did not have to fight at all. That is the power of praise that leads the way.

This same principle stands behind Ezra 3:10. The foundation of praise came before the walls rose, and before the gates were set in place. Israel chose to honor God right at the very start, and that pattern holds a lesson for us today.
