Yet Scripture says they treated the Lord’s offering with contempt, taking the best meat for themselves before it was ever presented to God (1 Samuel 2:12-17). Their hands were busy with holy things. Their hearts were somewhere else entirely.

That is the danger tucked inside Amos 4:4-5. God’s people kept bringing sacrifices, tithes, and freewill offerings, yet He called it transgression, not worship.

So examine your own worship this week. Ask whether your habits still reflect a heart engaged with God, or whether religious rituals have quietly replaced real relationship with Him.
